The benchmark in hand presses for lino printing!
Woodzilla is the handpress that everybody would like to have in its workshop.
This press is suitable for plate sizes up to A2 (42 x 59.4cm) and can be used for linocut printing or woodcut printing (or soft materials such as gum), for pressing vegetable matter, for stamping paper, etc. The upper platen can be adjusted in height to accommodate thicker blocks.
The all-welded steel frame is powder-coated for strength and durability.
The press platens are made of 36 mm thick plywood and measure 600 x 430 mm. They have a semi-gloss three-coat polyurethane (PU) lacquer finish.
Thanks to an ingenious design, there is no risk of the press tipping over during printing operations, and the double-lever system ensures constant and sufficient pressure.
For printing, the press can be positioned on a table or workbench, or even on the workshop floor. Ideally, you should be in a dominant posture to apply pressure using your body weight.
Non-slip pads under the frame prevent scratches on the work surface and prevent slipping.
Once printing is complete, the press can be stored on its side, saving considerable space.
A piece of felt in the size of the press is supplied with the machine. It is not necessary, but in some cases it can facilitate printing by acting as a compensation mat if the matrix to be printed has uneven thicknesses. It can also be used to deform the paper during printing, a process known as debossing or embossing (embossing involves the use of 2 dies: one shape and its counter-shape).
A2 models feature a double lever system.
