Use to modify the viscosity of etching inks or any oil-based printing ink.
Heavy oil is used to strength the body of the ink.

Cranfield oils are made of a linseed oil formulation.

Reducing oil is the most common additive for ink preparation.
Oils are classified on a scale from 000 to 8. The lower the figure the more it becomes liquid.
Depending on its degree, the oil can increase the ink's body, or strengthen it.
