The material of the trays of HO.EP presses
The trays of the HO presses. EP are all made of synthetic material: laminate. This means that they are made of kraft sheets impregnated with thermosetting resins. These are surmounted by a paper impregnated with melamine resins. The assembly is subjected to the combined action of pressure and a high temperature (150 ° C) in special stage presses where the polycondensation of the resins takes place. The high-pressure laminate thus obtained has a high impact resistance, and the various layers of paper that compose it are inextricably linked. These trays are therefore suitable for presses. They are resistant to aggressive or chemical products and abrasion. Their solidity is no longer to be proven, the use of this material is recognized in the hospital environment, research laboratories or science classrooms. They are tested and meet the most demanding standards.
The difference with metal trays
One can then wonder what is the difference with metal trays. The advantage lies simply in the lightness. This is observable, laminated trays are about 6 mm thick when a metal tray is 1cm or 1.5cm. The presses are then more manageable and just as resistant in terms of material or time. It is therefore possible to move or transport the press more easily. The second advantage lies in the greater resistance to deformation. The metal trays tend to bend or dig in their center as and when prints.
