REF F80

REF F80
Patented intaglio press, lightweight (+/- 100 kg), delivering outstanding print quality. Available in 60cm and 80cm.
Lightweight, precise, and featuring a patented technical invention
The Jan Forrer intaglio press was designed by Jan himself, drawing on his years of practical experience. His goal was to create a lightweight press with the same capacity as a traditional cast-iron model.
A patented invention in the Netherlands makes this press unique: the lower roller is supported by a system of seven plain bearings in pearlitic cast iron.
This clever mechanism provides a 1:7 transmission ratio without the usual systems (chains, gears, or gearboxes).
It eliminates deflection of the roller under pressure, ensuring sharper impressions and precise registration.
Upper roller: seamless boiler tube, 10 mm thick wall, mounted on needle bearings for smooth rotation under heavy pressure.
Adjustable pressure system: sliding half-bearings + stack of compression boards, allowing slight pressure release during the plate’s passage.
117 cm spoked wheel, elegant and instantly recognizable, with 6 wooden spokes.
The Forrer press is also suitable for letterpress or relief printing, thanks to two rails (25 mm) supplied with the machine and screwed onto the bed.
Lightweight: only ~75 kg for the 600 mm model.
Perfect stability: no bending thanks to the patented system.
Outstanding print quality: sharpness, precision, and reliable registration.
Available sizes: 600 mm and 800 mm.
Convenient: integrated storage shelves in the stand.
Versatile: suitable for intaglio, letterpress, and relief printing.
The Forrer 600 press is visible at our Paris store.
